ER break

It's 4:45am at Holy Redeemer Hospital in Philadelphia. I am struggling through the last 3 hours of my ER night shift. Unfortunately I haven't really seen anything cool or specifically different from what I see during the day, so I'm just attempting to study for my end-of-rotation exam and "night"dreaming about my comfy bed.

The end-of-rotation exams, known to my classmates as "EORs," are just another way for the PA faculty to torture us 2nd year students. I guess they figure that 1,504 exams last year wasn't enough to prove we know what we're doing. Nobody knows how to study for them but everyone fears them. I just can't wait to finish the first one and then get to reunite with my posse to celebrate. I've missed all of them so much since we started rotations. I went from seeing them everyday to nothing!

So that's about all I can come up with at this late (early?) hour. Hopefully I won't have to scoop out anyone's fecal matter before my shift is up.
